CONNECTING THE CONTROLLER
WARNING: Make sure that the controller is in
•
the 0 (or off) position.
WARNING: Before each use, check that your
•
blanket is flat, fully spread out and firmly se-
cured before switching on. In order to do so,
spread out the underblanket, use the bands to
tighten it and fix them over the corners of the
mattress (Fig. 1). Then put on your bedsheet in
the usual manner.
Failure to observe these instructions will cause
•
overheating. This will activate the overheat
safeguard system, thus leaving the blanket in-
operative, voiding all warranties.
NOTE: No user serviceable parts inside. Unau-
•
thorized modification voids warranty. Contact
the authorized service centre for replacement
or service under warranty.
FIRST USE:
As most beds and beddings absorb moisture,
•
your electric blanket has to drive out this mois-
ture before being able to operate to its fullest
potential. Therefore, on the first day of use,
keep your electric blanket switched on at the
highest setting for 3-4 hours before going to
bed. You may notice a slight odour due to the
blanket's newness, which is completely normal
and will quickly disappear.
To connect the controller, keep the button on
•
the controller plug pressed while inserting the
plug into the socket. Release the button and
ensure that the plug is firmly inserted. Now
connect the flexible cord plug to the power
point and switch on (Fig. 2).
The flexible cord and controller must be kept
•
outside the bed and away from open windows
or exposure to moisture.
USING YOUR ELECTRIC BLANKET
Heat Controller
The 3-heat controller comes with an easily ad-
•
justable temperature slide switch and a heat
setting display.
For maximum comfort, the 3-Heat controller
•
offers the following settings:
0 = Off
1 = Low Heat
2 = Medium Heat
3 = High Heat (Use for preheating the bed)
NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY OPERATION
WARNING: Do not use Setting 3 while you are
in bed.
Keep the controller on Setting 3 for 1-2 hours
before going to bed and then turn it down or off
altogether depending on your own requirements
whilst in Bed.
Long term use setting '1'.
•
Watchdog Safety Timer:
•
The digital controller has 3-hour safety timers,
•
in case you forget to turn your blanket off after
your usage. The blanket will be automatically
switched off in 3 hours after the initial adjust-
ment was made to the controller.
If the appliance is stopped in this way, set the
•
power switch to "0" position and then back to
the desired temperature
