Fitting instructions
1) Disassemble the bumper, permanently remove the metal buffer beam.
2) Place the side pieces of the tow bar (1 on the right and 2 on the left) through the liberated openings in the back of the
chassis beams. Points (A) and (B) come against the rear plate of the vehicle matching the provided drillings where the
buffer beam was fixed. Place the plastic caps (5) between the coach-work and the towbar. Insert the bolts by (B)
without tightening, insert the bolts by (A) and place the washers on the inside of the trunk.
3) Points (C) of the side pieces match the provided drillings in the side of the chassis beam inside the trunk. These drillings
are sealed with a rubber cap which has to be removed. Place the plates (3) against the inside of the chassis beam on the
position of points (C) and insert the bolts without tightening.
4) Place the tow bar between both side pieces till points (D) and (E) match the drillings in the side pieces. Insert the bolts
by (D) without tightening. Place the buffer beam (4) with the oval holes on points (E) of the tow bar, insert the bolts and
washers and tighten everything firmly (see tension).
5) Make an incision in the underside of the bumper according to drawing. Assemble the bumper on the vehicle.
6) Assemble the ball together with the security shackle and socket holder.
Disassemblage of the bumper
- 2 plastic pusch buttons on the splash board
- 2 screws on the wheel casing
- loosen the sides with a click
- 4 screws at the bottom of the bumper
- 4 screws on the entrance of the trunk behind plastic caps
Attention : when pulling a weight of more than 750 kg. after having placed the tow bar, an adaptation of the radiator
and the ventilator has to be made by your Mercedes dealer.

Note
Please consult your cardealer or owners manual for the maximal permissable towing mass.
Remove any bitumen coating on the fastening position for the tow bar.
When drilling, be carefull not to damage any brake lines, electrical wiring or fuel lines.
