Rinse Aid
To achieve proper drying, always use a liquid rinse aid, even if
your detergent contains a rinse aid or drying additive. Not using
rinse aid may extend cycle times.
NOTE: The Rinse Aid LED illuminates when the Rinse Aid is low.
The LED will not illuminate if there is enough rinse aid in the
dishwasher.
Always use rinse aid even if your detergent contains rinse aid.
Add rinse aid when the Rinse Aid LED on the control panel
illuminates.
NOTE: To avoid long wash cycle times, ensure the rinse aid set-
ting is not set to "r:00" (OFF).
The dishwasher requires soft water to ensure proper washing
results. Your appliance is equipped with an internal water softening
system. However, if you have a household water softening system,
you will not need to use this softening system.
The required amount of salt depends on the degree of hardness
of your tap water. (See table on page 14 for more information)
For the water softening system to function properly, it will need to
use dishwasher water softener salt.
Using salt
Fill the salt dispenser (using the funnel supplied to pour) before
turning the unit ON to ensure that salt overflow is immediately
washed away. This prevents corrosion. Open the screw-type
cap of the salt dispenser. Fill the tank with water (only required
when switching on the unit for the first time). Add salt (dishwasher
water softening salt) until the water is displaced and runs out. Fill
with salt as soon as the salt refill symbol illuminates.
NOTE: Refill salt in the appliance only when the salt refill indica-
tor is lit.
See Adjusting the Settings to adjust Salt setting.
RINSE AID
WATER SOFTENER (model dependent)
Do not use salt tablets or any salt other than dishwasher water
softening salt.

Filling the dispenser
Make sure the dishwasher door is completely open.
Add liquid rinse aid to the dispenser as shown below until the
rinse aid reservoir is full.
Wipe up any excess rinse aid that puddles when the dispenser
reservoir is full to prevent oversudsing.
After filling the rinse aid dispenser, the indicator light will go out
in a few minutes after the dishwasher door is shut.
WARNING
Never fill the salt dispenser with detergent. It will destroy the
water softening system. To prevent corrosion, refill with salt and
immediately begin any cycle.
