c) Unplug the tool and/or remove the battery before making any adjustments to the tool, switching attachments or putting the tool down or in storage. This
safety measure prevents the power tool from starting up unintentionally.
d) Keep the electric tool out of the reach of children and untrained users. Only people who have read and understand completely all safety instructions can use
the power tool. Power tools can be dangerous if used by inexperienced users.
e) Clean your power tool carefully. Check that the moving parts work properly and do not jam and that there are no parts broken or damaged to such an extent
that the operation of the power tool is affected. Contact an authorised service centre for any repairs needed before using the tool. Poorly maintained
power tools can cause serious damage or harm.
f) Keep any cutting tools sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tools, accessories, attachments, etc. in accordance with these instructions. Take into account the conditions of your workplace and the task
at hand. Using power tools for any purpose other than that for which they are intended can lead to dangerous situations.
Service
Have your power tool repaired only by trained personnel using only authentic spare parts. This will ensure that your power tool is always safe to use.
WARNING: When sawing, dust particles will be produced. In some instances, depending on the materials you are working with, this dust can be particularly
harmful (e.g. lead from old paint). Always consider the risk accociated with the materials you are working with. To reduce the risk of exposure:
• Work in well-ventilated areas.
• Work with approved safety equipment, such as dust masks that are specially designed to filter microscopic particles.
Additional safety instructions for multi-purpose table saw
WARNING: Be sure to read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all insturctions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/ or serious
personal injury.
1. Know your power tool. Read the operator's manual carefully. Learn the applications and limitations, as well as all specific potential hazards.
2. Make sure any operator of the tool is adequately trained in the use, adjustment and operation of the machine. The power tool may only be used by personnel
who have been instructed with respect to the associated hazards. The required minimum age must be observed.
3. Always wear safety glasses or goggles when using this mitre saw. Everyday eyeglasses have only impact-resistant lenses; they are not safety glasses.
4. Wear a face or dust mask if you are working in dusty conditions.
5. Always protect your hearing. Wear hearing protection during extended periods of operation.
6. lnspect the tool's power cord regularly and if damaged have it repaired of replaced by an authorised professional. Always be aware of the cord's position.
7. Always check for damaged parts before using the power tool. Any component that may have been damaged should be carefully checked to see if it can
function as intended. Check for misalignment, loose connections between parts, broken parts, and any other condition that may affect the operation of the
power tool. Any damaged part should be properly repaired or replaced at a qualified service center. Keep guards in place and in working order.
8. Always make sure that your extension cord is in good condition. Extension cords should be rated for loads that are at least equal to, and preferably greater
than, the requirements needed to run your tool effectively. An unsuitable extension cord can lead to loss of power and overheating.
9. This miter saw can be used for cutting wood and plastic only. Make sure to choose the appropriate cutting disc for your application. Always use saw blades
of the correct size and with a suitable mounting hole. Do not use "High Speed" (HSS) blades or blades that are damaged or deformed. Use only saw blades
recommended by the manufacturer and which are the exact bore and diameter required for this machine.
10. When sawing long pieces, always use extra support. Use clamps when needed or other clamping devices.
11. Make sure your immediate work area has adequate lighting and that no obstructions will interfere with your operation.
12. Refrain from removing any remains or other parts of the workpiece from the immediate cutting area while the tool is still running and the saw head is not
in the safe rest position. Never reach around the saw blade. Turn off tool and wait for saw blade to stop before moving the workpiece or changing settings.
13. Never apply pressure on this tool. Serious injury can occur if the power tool is overturned and you come into contact with the cutting disc.
14. Reduce the risk of unintentional starting. Make sure the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in.
WARNING: The operation of any table saw can result in debris or other foreign objects being ejected into your eyes, which can result in severe eye
damage. Before using the power tool, always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields and a full face shield if needed.
WARNING: If any parts are missing, do not operate your table miter saw until the missing parts are replaced. Failure to follow this rule could
result in serious personal injury.
Carrying your tool with safety
CAUTION: The power cord must be disconnected from the power supply before attempting to move the tool.
1. Always secure all moving portions before carrying the tool. Make sure all guards are in place and all locking screws are tightened to avoid sudden unexpected
movements.
• Lock the cutting head in its lowest position using the cutting head locking pin. Make sure that the locking pin is completely seated in its socket.
• Loosen the miter angle locking screw. Turn the table to either of its maximum settings.
• Lock the table in position using the locking screw.
2. Lift the tool using the two carry handle cut-outs machined into either side of the machine base, to transport the machine.
CAUTION: Never carry the table saw by the power cord. Carrying the tool by the power cord could damage the insulation or the wire connections resulting
in electric shock or fire.
CAUTION: Do not use the blade guard as a "lifting point".
3. Although compact, this tool is heavy. To reduce the risk of back injury, get competent help whenever you have to lift the saw. Hold the tool close to your body
when lifting. Bending your knees and keeping your upper body upright allows you to use your legs to lift, rather than your back.
4. Place the saw on a secure stationary work surface and check the saw over carefully. Check particularly the operation of all the machines safety features
before attempting to operate the machine.
