MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: Make sure the tool is disconnected from the power source before performing any maintenance work.
WARNING: Be extremely cautious when handling the blade.
Maintainance
The tool should be cleaned after every use.
Remove all sawdust etc from the visible parts of the tool using a vacuum cleaner. A vacuum cleaner can also be connected to the tool's dust extraction port at
the rear of the machine. This should remove debris from the inside of the machine.
Clean the tool with a slightly damp cloth. Never use solvents to clean the plastic parts of the tool, as they are highly corosive and can cause damage.
Riving knife
The riving knife is a very important component and comes fitted, aligned and correctly adjusted from the manufacturer. It prevents the workpiece from binding
as it passes through the blade.
NOTE: The riving knife should be adjusted so that the gap between the tips of the blade teeth and the edge of the knife is approximately 3-5mm.
Inspect the riving knife at regular intervals and replace it if it is worn or damaged.
INSTALLING / REMOVING THE BLADE
CAUTION:
• Only use saw blades that follow the manufacturer's specifications.
• Always check that the blade's rated speed is compatible with your tool.
• Switch off the power tool and disconnect it from the power supply before attaching, adjusting, replacing or removing blades.
NOTE: Wearing protective gloves is highly recommended when handling the blade in any way.
Removing the blade
1. Ensure the machine is in Miter mode with the cutting head in its upper position.
2. Release the retractable blade guard using a cross screwdriver and safely storing its pivot screw.
3. Use a spanner to hold the circular hole of the blade flange.
4. Use a 6mm hex key to unscrew the arbor screw.
NOTE: The arbor screw has a left hand thread, turn clockwise to undo and counterclockwise to tighten.
5. Remove the arbor screw, washer and outer blade flange.
6. Manually operate the lower blade guard and retract it fully up into the body of the machine.
7. Remove the blade by withdrawing it outwards to clear the end to of the arbor and then downwards and forwards away from the machine.
10
NOTE: The 5mm blade slot at the lower front of the cutting head provides extra clearance when moving the blade
into or out of the machine.
