History of the full-size vessel
The four ships of the 23.1 m class were built for the DGzRS (German Association for the Rescue of the
Shipwrecked) at the Schweers dockyard at Bardenfleth in the years 1996 and 1997. In October 1996 the
Hermann Rudolf Meyer and the Hans Hackmack were launched jointly, followed almost exactly one year
later by the Bernhard Gruben and the Theo Fischer. These vessels were named in honour of the foreman
and engineer of the Alfried Krupp, who lost their lives during an accident on the open seas in January 1995.
These cruisers are the first of the DGzRS's ships to be designed for gas protection operation, and are also
the first ships of their type with an enclosed bridge. Since 05.08.1997 the Bernhard Gruben has been
stationed at the Norderney rescue station.

Set contents: laser-cut ABS parts for superstructure, companionways, winches, window frames,
ventilation grilles, stern boxes and other parts, laser-cut wooden parts for internal bulkheads, rein-
forcements and boatstand, complete fittings set, factory-assembled mechanism for lowering and
recovering the ship's boat, mechanical parts for opening and closing the stern flap

The ship's boat, Johann Fidi, is not included in the kit, Order No. 2027. It is available separately under
Order No. 2027.100.

This is a comprehensive, finely detailed kit for the experienced marine modeller who enjoys some real
construction work. Nevertheless, construction time is shortened considerably by the many laser-cut
components and moulded parts (factory-trimmed using CNC-machines) which help greatly in producing
those assemblies which are difficult to make, and in abbreviating the repetitive tasks.

If material defects or manufacturing faults should arise in a product distributed by us in the Federal Republic
of Germany and purchased by a consumer (§ 13 BGB), we, Graupner GmbH & Co. KG, D-73230
Kirchheim/Teck, Germany, acknowledge the obligation to correct those defects within the limitations
described below.
The consumer is not entitled to exploit this manufacturer's declaration if the failure in the usability of the
product is due to natural wear, use under competition conditions, incompetent or improper use (including
incorrect installation) or external influences.
This manufacturer's declaration does not affect the consumer's legal or contractual rights regarding defects
arising from the purchase contract between the consumer and the vendor (dealer).
Extent of the guarantee
If a claim is made under guarantee, we undertake at our discretion to repair or replace the defective goods.
We will not consider supplementary claims, especially for reimbursement of costs relating to the defect (e.g.
installation / removal costs) and compensation for consequent damages unless they are allowed by statute.
This does not affect claims based on legal regulations, especially according to product liability law.
