Safety
· Wear ear protectors and protective glasses.
· Do not cut or saw where there may be hidden electricity, gas or water
utility services. Use a suitable detector or ask your local utility service
provider. Contact with electricity cables can lead to fire or electric shock.
Damaging a gas pipe can lead to an explosion. Penetration of a water
pipe can lead to property damage or to electric shock.
· If you use the tool outside always connect it through a residual current
device with a maximum trip current of 30 mA. If you use an extension
cable make sure that it is one suitable for use outside.
· Do not cut materials containing asbestos.
· When sawing building materials observe the statutory requirements and
the manufacturer's recommendations.
· Before you insert the mains plug into the socket make sure that the tool is
switched off.
· Always work with the mains cable leading away from the rear of the tool.
· Always ensure that the workpiece is firmly supported. In no circum-
stances should the workpiece be held in place or supported by the hand
or foot. Never allow the blade to come into contact with a solid object or
the floor when the tool is operating – danger of kick-back!
· Contact with a live wire can cause parts of the tool to become live and
lead to electric shock. Electrical tools must therefore be held by their
insulated handles only.
· Make sure that the tool is operating before you bring the blade into
contact with the workpiece.
· The course of the cut must have no obstructions above or below it.
When you switch on the tool, ensure that the blade is not supported by,
interfering or in contact with any object.
· The shoe
must always be set against the workpiece when the tool is
sawing.
· Hold the tool firmly with both hands at all times when working.
Keep proper footing and balance.
