6.4. Pipes
CAUTION : Before connecting the pipes, check
their internal cleanliness. Observe the pipe
diameters at the inlet and outlet of the station.
GB
6.4.1. Station inlet
The inlet pipe must be perfectly waterproof and
must have a downward slope (minimum 2%).
To avoid possible amalgams or plugs, the slope
must be linear over its entire length (upward slope
to be avoided).
6.5. Ventilation
The lifting station must be equipped with ventilation
to prevent the appearance of H2S.
6.6. Handling
Depending on the weight of the pumps, appropriate
handling equipment (stem, chain hoist, etc.) must
be installed for the safe handling of the equipment
during maintenance.
6.7. Electrical connection
OFF
Electrical connection must be carried out
only by a qualified electrician in accordance
with local regulations.
Follow all safety standards.
The units must be earthed (grounded).
Connect the earthing (grounding) conductor to the
terminal with the marking
Compare the frequency and mains voltage with
the plate data and connect in accordance with the
diagrams.
6.8. Power supply connection
The supply line must comply with the instructions
in § 3.2.
Each motor, must be protected independently
by a D curve circuit breaker correctly calibrated
according to the power of the drive
7. STARTUP AND OPERATION
7.1. Commissioning
A correct commissioning will guarantee the
longevity of the set and ensure that is operates at
optimum efficiency.
The remote control elements (floats, piezometric
probe)
are
pre-set
recommend checking these basic settings before
commissioning. In the event of changes to the
settings, consult the motor nameplate and the
information in § 7.4.
7.2. First starting
OFF
After all hydraulic and electrical connections have
been made, start the station.
Never run the pumps for more than 5
minutes with the discharge isolation valve
closed.

Starting the pumps :
To start the pump, operate the switch three
positions on the front of the trunk/cabinet of order.
In "MAN" mode for forced operation in order to carry
out a simple check (launch of the pump, direction
of rotation,...), in "AUTO" mode for automatic
operation thanks to the floats/piezometric probe. To
stop the pump, switch the switch to "0".
The pump starts/stops according to the adjusted
start/stop height settings on the floats/piezometric
probe.
For stations with three-phase pumps :
When the motor starts to rotate, check
the direction of rotation.
If the direction of rotation of the pump is correct,
after a few seconds the water level drops.
If after a few seconds of operation the level has
not dropped or only slightly, stop the pump with
the switch set to "0". The direction of rotation is not
correct.
7.3. Reversal of the direction of rotation
OFF
To change the direction of rotation of the motor,
switch off the pumps via the three-position switches
"MAN / 0 / AUTO" and then switch off the box/
cabinet. Reverse two phases of the cable from the
pump motor concerned.
When finished, turn the power back on to the trunk/
cabinet and set the switch to "AUTO".
7.4. Adjustment of the switching heights
CAUTION : The stop height settings must not
allow the pump to be dewatered.
7.4.1. piezometric probe
ON
During automatic operation, it is possible to change
the switching on and off heights of the pumps
without having to stop the station.
To do so, refer to the instructions provided with the
box/cabinet.
7.4.2. Level floats
we
OFF
It is possible to modify the switching on and off
heights of the pumps, to do this, switch off the
cabinet. And change the float settings directly in
the station.
