SAFETY INFORMATION
Read these instructions carefully before installing,
operating, servicing or repairing this tool. Keep these
instructions in an accessible place.
Safety Messages
Snap-on Tools Company provides safety messages to
cover reasonable situations that may be encountered
when operating, servicing or repairing air tools. It is the
responsibility of operators and servicing technicians to
be knowledgeable about the procedures, tools and
materials used, and to satisfy themselves that the
procedures, tools and materials will not compromise
their safety, that of others in the work place or the tool.
Power Tool Safety Messages
Snap-on power tools may contain chemicals known
to the State of California to cause cancer, birth
defects, or other reproductive harm.
Improper use of power tools and accessories can
cause broken tools.
• Read instructions before operating power tools.
• Be sure these instructions accompany the tool
when passed from one user to a new or
inexperienced user.
• Tools shall be inspected periodically to verify that
ratings, markings, and label are legible.
• Do not remove any labels. Replace all damaged
labels.
• Contact Snap-on Tools Company to obtain any
replacement labels.
Broken tools can cause injury
Power tools can cause flying particles during use.
• Failure of the workpiece, accessories, or inserted
tool can generate high-velocity projectiles.
• Always wear safety goggles during the operation
of the tool and when changing accessories on the
tool. The grade of protection required should be
assessed for each use.

Power tools generate noise.
• Wear hearing protection, user and bystanders.
• Damping may help keep work surface from
"ringing".

• Replace the consumable inserted tool to prevent
an increase in noise.
• Ensure the muffler is still installed.
• Exposure to high noise levels can cause
permanent, disabling hearing loss and other
problems, such as tinnitus (ringing, buzzing,
whistling or humming in the ears). Therefore a risk
assessment and implementation of appropriate
controls for these hazards are essential.
• Appropriate controls to reduce the risk may
include actions such as damping materials to
prevent work pieces from "ringing".
• Operate and maintain the die grinder as
recommended in the instructions handbook, to
prevent an unnecessary increase in the noise level.
• Select, maintain and replace the consumable/inserted
tool as recommended in the instructions handbook, to
prevent an unnecessary increase in noise.
Prolonged exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
Power tools vibrate.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to vibration, repetitive
motions and uncomfortable positions.
• Stop using the tool if discomfort, tingling feeling,
whitening of skin or pain occurs. Seek medical
advice before resuming use.
• Exposure to vibration can cause disabling
damage to the nerves and blood supply of the
hands and arms.
• Operate and maintain the tool as recommended
in this instruction manual to prevent an increase
in vibration levels.
• Select, maintain and replace the consumable/
inserted tool as recommended in this instruction
manual to prevent an increase in vibration.
• Support the weight of the tool in a stand or
balancer whenever possible.
• Hold the tool with a light but secure grip. Always
hold tightly enough to counteract reaction forces
but know that the risks due to vibration are
greater when the grip force is higher.
• An improperly mounted or damaged inserted tool
can cause an increase in vibration levels.
• Wear warm clothing when working in cold
conditions. Keep hands and feet dry.
• Replace the consumable inserted tool to prevent
an increase in vibration levels.
• Don't hold too tightly.
• Improper/damaged tools can cause excessive
vibration.
