Product usage
WARNING
• The lid will become hot. The fryer will become very hot.
• Hot steam rises and escapes through the lid vents
during the frying process, and oil can potentially also
splash.
Overheating protection
Should the unit overheat (e.g. because there is not enough oil in the frying tank), the unit will
automatically switch off. In this case, unplug the unit from the mains and let it cool completely.
Frying food
Close the lid and lock the handle again. Check the temperature setting.
To check the frying progress, lift the basket for the first time when the frying time has
elapsed.
Check through the inspection window.
Unplug the power cable from the mains socket. Press the lid release button to open the lid.
Carefully extract the frying basket from the fryer. Cover a bowl or colander with kitchen
roll and pour the fried food onto this.
Note: Any excess oil or fat should be absorbed with kitchen roll.
Filtering the oil/fat
•
Allow the unit to cool down completely after use (at least a few hours).
•
We recommend filtering the oil/fat after each frying session, in order to completely remove
any food residue, as these can accelerate the fat breakdown process.
•
Pour the cooled oil or fat (it should always be in a liquid form) into a metal bowl with handles.
•
Remove any food residue from the frying tank with a sponge or a few pieces of kitchen roll.
•
Reposition the frying basket at its top position in the fryer. Slowly pour the cooking oil
or fat into the fryer through a filter. Kitchen roll or a cotton cloth can be used as a filter.
•
If you fry food on a regular basis, the oil/fat can be stored in the fryer. Close the lid and
store the unit in a cool, dry place.
•
Change the oil or fat after every 3-5 frying sessions. Always replace the oil or fat if it
foams, smokes, smells bad or turns black and slimy.
Storing
•
If the unit is only used occasionally, remove all the fat/oil inside the unit and store this in
an airtight container in the fridge.
