Installation with a Talon Sandwich Adapter Bracket

ITEM(S) NEEDED
NOTICE:
The Outboard doesn't have to be
completely removed. Remove the two mounting
bolts from one side and loosen the mounting bolts
on the opposite side. Tilt the Outboard motor for
the installation steps below. Repeat for opposite
side to complete installation.
a. Support the Outboard and remove the hardware that
attaches the Outboard to the boat Jack Plate.
b. Take the Talon Sandwich Adapter Bracket and
determine the mounting location. Place the two
Spacer Blocks (Item #2) between the Jack Plate
and the Talon Sandwich Adapter Bracket.

c. Use the hardware that was already on the boat or the
hardware recommended by your boat manufacturer
to install the Talon Sandwich Adapter Bracket,
Spacer Blocks and Sandwich Adapter Bracket
Shim. Reinstall the mounting hardware loosely. The
hardware should pass through the Outboard, the
Talon Sandwich Adapter Bracket, Spacer Blocks and
then the Jack Plate.
d. Once the Adapter Bracket is positioned, tighten and
torque the mounting hardware to the boat and/or
outboard manufacturer's specifications.
NOTICE:
To prevent seizing of the stainless steel
hardware, do not use high speed installation tools.
Wetting the screws or applying an anti-seize may
help prevent seizing.

NOTICE:
Check the length of the Outboard mounting
hardware to make sure that there will be enough thread
engagement. The Talon Sandwich Adapter Bracket and Spacer
Block Kit will add 1-1/4" to the thickness and bolt length.
