When laying the floor as surface heating, the construction must comply
with the valid rules, standards and regulations.
When installing the pipework, the correct sequence has to be observed
to ensure a perfect function of the "Unibox E vario":
– provide derivation from the supply pipe of the two pipe heating
system.
– laying of the surface heating circuit; like a spiral to guarantee a con-
stant temperature distribution (see installation sketch).
– connection of the pipework to the "Unibox E vario", marked direction
of flow has to be observed. Valve always behind the surface
heating circuit. Remove protection cover of the "Unibox E vario" as
well as the front cover of the pipe conduit unit.
– installation of the connecting pipe to the return pipe of the two pipe
heating system.
The surface heating can be installed with any standard pipe material.
The Oventrop programme includes suitable compression fittings. The
corresponding installation instructions are to be observed. Introduce
copper pipe at the most 5 mm longer than the fitting. An open ring
spanner 30 mm, e.g. Oventrop item no. 1401091, is recommended to
tighten the fittings.
The installation is filled and bled, e.g. at the valve. Then carry out
leakage test and remount protection over of the valve and the front
cover of the pipe conduit unit.
Important information for heating up:
After all plastering is finished, a concrete screed which conforms to the
relevant standard for underfloor heating systems has to be laid. Heating
up of concrete and anhydrite concrete screed has to be carried out ac-
cording to EN 1264-4.
Heating up at the earliest:
– 21 days after laying of concrete screed
– 7 days after laying of calcium sulphate screed
Heat up slowly
3 days with a flow temperature of 25 °C, then
4 days with a flow temperature of 55 °C.
Flow temperature only regulated via boiler control.
Open the valve insert by turning the protection cap by one turn and turn
black handwheel to maximum setting.
Insructions of screed manufacturers must be observed.
If required, mount thermostat with remote control "Uni LH" or elec-
trothermal actuator on the vertical valve insert inside the "Unibox E
vario". The white or chrome plated cover (front cover) is mounted and
adjusted.
Important information on initial operation:
The recommended temperature range of the return temperature limiter
is between 25 °C and 40 °C.
The maximum permissible screed temperature may not be exceeded:
– 55°C for concrete and calcium sulphate screed
– 45°C for mastic asphalt screed
– or according to the indications of the screed manufacturer
Further information can also be found in the technical information
"Unibox E".
