4 Commissioning
4.1 Switch−on sequence
Caution
Always switch on the operating voltage supply first and
then the compressed air supply.
Before carrying out installation and/or maintenance
work, switch off the following power supplies either
simultaneously or in the following sequence:
1. Compressed air supply
2. Operating voltage supply for HGPPI.
4.2 Requirements for operation using the PROFIBUS−DP
GSD file
If a new device is to be incorporated into a configuration
program when a PROFIBUS−DP system is being configured,
an appropriate GSD file must be installed.
You can find the GSD files and icon files for the HGPPI:
on the CD supplied
on the Internet at www.festo.com/fieldbus
PROFIBUS address
The PROFIBUS address was preset to 5" at the factory.
If this address is already occupied by another station,
a new address must be set up via the DIL switch in poten
tial−free state, using the plastic screwdriver supplied.
