The thermostat must not be influenced by
other heat sources (illustr. 5.2).
The wall box unit is to be installed with the hole
pointing downwards.
Alignment and fixing are made by use of the
enclosed elbows. They can be fixed at the side
of the wall box unit in different positions.
The wall box unit is sealed in the wall. The valve
is protected by a cover made of corrugated
cardboard.
For a simple installation of the vertical
pipework, place the pipe conduit unit, item no.
1022650, into the wall below the wall box unit,
shorten if required. Later, the front of the pipe
conduit unit will be under plaster. Alternatively,
Oventrop offers a separate mounting channel,
item no. 1022652 or 1022653, for the connec-
tion of the "Unibox" right above the floor. As for
the installation, see corresponding installation
instructions (on the internet under www.oven-
trop.com).
5.3. Installation of the "Unibox E BV"
item no. 1022662
To guarantee a perfect operation of the
"Unibox E BV", the direction of flow has to
be observed when installing the pipework
and the "Unibox"
• Provide derivation from the supply pipe of
the two pipe heating system.
• The derivation pipe is connected to the
"Unibox E BV". The direction of flow marked
on the valve body has to be observed. Re-
move the protection cover of the "Unibox E
BV" as well as the front cover of the pipe
conduit unit or of the fixing channel.
The "Unibox E BV" is mounted in front
of the surface heating circuit.
• The surface heating circuit is laid starting
from the "Unibox E BV".
• Starting from the surface heating circuit, a
connecting pipe is laid to the return pipe of
the system.
In combination with the "Unibox E
BV", we recommend the use of the "Unibox
RLA". The latter is installed in the connecting
pipe towards the return pipe and allows its iso-
lation. Also see installation instructions "Unibox
RLA".
The surface heating can be installed with any
standard pipe material.
The Oventrop programme includes a variety of
compression fittings. The corresponding in-
stallation instructions are to be observed.

Insert the copper pipe a maximum of 5
mm deeper than the fitting.

An open ring spanner 30 mm, e.g. Oventrop
item no. 1401091, is recommended to tighten
the fittings.
5.4. Installation of the "Unibox E BV"
item no. 1022676
The "Unibox E BV" item no. 1022676 is an
installation set without cover plate and ther-
mostat for use in the fixing channel with hea-
ting circuit isolation, item no. 1022654 (illustr.
5.4).
The thermostat supplied with item no.
1022654 must not be influenced by other
heat sources (illustr. 5.2).
The wall box unit is to be installed in the
upper part of the fixing channel with isolating
facility with the hole pointing downwards.
The "Unibox E BV" is fixed with the screws
that are supplied with item no. 1022654 and
the insert nuts in the rear of the fixing chan-
nel.
The "Unibox E BV" is aligned with the help of
the adjustment devices of the fixing channel.
Later, the front cover of the fixing channel will
be under plaster.
A cover made of corrugated cardboard pro-
tects the valve during installation and plaste-
ring.
