Operator responsibilities
•
The clamp awning may only be used if it is in proper and operationally safe condition.
•
Observe the safety instructions in these assembly/operating instructions as well as generally applicable safety and accident
prevention regulations.
•
The technical data/loads (wind class, static load) when selecting the fastening material are to be observed according to the
list on page33 and specifications, e.g. of the dowel manufacturer.
IMPORTANT!
•
Keep others away from the clamp awning when retracting or extending it. Monitor the awning during these actions until it
is fully extended or retracted.
•
The operator has an obligation to be satisfied of the safe and proper condition of the clamp awning prior to initial opera-
tion.
•
The clamp awning and its mounting must be checked for damage(s) and wear before each use.
•
In case of damage(s) or signs of wear, the clamp awning must not be put into operation and must be secured against unin-
tended use.
•
If dangers to persons or changes are detected during operation, use of the clamp awning must be discontinued immedi-
ately (e.g. block access to operation).
•
Keep children away from clamp awnings. Children could use the clamp awning as a climbing structure and climb up on it.
•
Keep children away from the packaging materials. The packaging materials could suffocate them.
Requirements for the installer
The following points must be observed for the installation and operation of the clamp awning:
•
The person commissioned to install the clamp awning must first read and understand these installation/operating in-
structions in their entirety. This applies even if the installer has already worked with such clamp awnings and/or has been
trained in the installation of clamp awnings.
•
The installer must be instructed in the safety regulations for the installation of the clamp awning.
•
The installer must not have any physical limitations that impair attention and judgement. These include fatigue and alcohol
consumption.
•
Minors and persons under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications may not carry out any kind of work on the awn-
ing, including assembly, disassembly, maintenance or cleaning.
•
The installer must wear protective equipment appropriate to the work to be done and the environment.
