Safety Precautions

• Ensure the power source conforms to the requirements stated on the
name plate of the AC adapter.
• Always wear gloves and eye protection while using this tool.
• Never use the heat gun in a wet environment or in areas with a high
degree of humidity eg. bathrooms, saunas etc.
• The heat gun is suitable for use in stripping oil-based paint and latex-
based paint. It cannot strip glazes or primers used to impregnate wood.
• Do not use the heat gun with chemical strippers.
• Lead-based paints should only be removed by a professional and not
with a heat gun as the residue and vapours may be poisonous. Exposure
to even small amounts of lead can cause brain damage. Young and
unborn children are particularly vulnerable.
• Do not use the heat gun near flammable materials or gases.
• Be proactive before each use. Always check areas behind ceilings, floors
etc. as they may contain flammable material.
• Always ensure the work area is well ventilated as toxic fumes may be
produced.
• Always check the workpiece before operation and remove any
obstructions.
• When stripping paint, where possible, use a scraper from a vertical
position. Be sure to scrape downward so the paint does not fall into the
heat gun. The nozzle should be positioned approximately 2-3/4" to 4"
from the paint.
• Never push any object into the nozzle as this could cause electric shock.
• Do not look directly into the nozzle while the unit is switched on.
• Do not place the nozzle against anything during use or directly after use.
• Never direct the hot-air flow at people or animals.
• Never use the heat gun as a hair dryer.
• Never point the heat gun nozzle directly at a window or other glass
surface.
• Never obstruct the hot-air flow or air intake as this could cause
excessive heat build-up.
• Do not lay the tool down if it is switched on.
