RECOMENDATIONS
1. The ever-changing engine designs may cause a compatibility issue for J.COSTA products.
Check it with you dealer or with J.COSTA.
2. Always use the original rear pulley, spring and clutch. J.COSTA always develops their
variator to be used with original parts as we only warranty the performance using original
parts.
In automatic transmissions system, the smoother the conduction, the more durability will
be its components because they will suffer less. To allow the speed control to work properly,
it is necessary to completely disassemble and grease (following the engine manufacturer
instructions) the rear pulley. Replace the gaskets if necessary.
3. To get the best performance of the variator, the engine compression needs to fit on the
recommended values by the manufacturer. Check that the air filter is clean.
4. When you start using the J.Costa variator you need to know that the rollers need a running-
in time (between 200-300km) during this time they could have a little wear. Is totally normal
and necessary.
You will need to change the rollers when you feel that the engine is going to a high RPM
and the scooter is no running.
