Take off the variator. You must eliminate
all the dust, oil and grease off the
crankshaft and slider before mounting
anything. The slider is self-lubricated by
the graphite inserts of the bushing. If you
do not remove all the oil and grease, it
together with the graphite can create a
paste that could block the movement of
the variator on the slider. Clean with any
solvent and install again.
7
Install the bell; put the slider through the
bushing as shown in the picture.
6
Check that the kit is complete, with all the
gliding rollers present before installing the
variator. If there is a slider in the kit, it
must replace the original one. If there isn't,
you must use the original one (check if it is
really the original one not third- party one).
8
Fit the variator on the crankshaft. Install
any washers to their original location (if
applicable). Always in the same position as
it were. J.COSTA recommends to change
the original belt for the J.Costa belt
(reinforced kevlar belt) in the moment of
installing the variator.
