Other information
For illustration purposes, the silentblock housing on the suspension arm is brown and the
silentblock is engraved with the word "TOP" in white to indicate its upper position. Please note
that some images are distorted for better illustration. The silentblock replacement tool can be
used for removal and installation.
Note
Risk of damage to the tool!
If you have used an impact spanner or air gun to move the nut on the threaded rod of the tool,
either for assembly or disassembly, the threaded rod could be damaged by the force of the air gun
or impact spanner, especially if the silentblock is blocked.
An impact spanner should NOT be used to activate the silentblock replacement tool. Use a frame
spanner or socket spanner (width between sides: 46 mm).
The term "suspension arm silentblock housing" is often abbreviated to "silentblock housing" for
easier reading.
PREPARATION
Before disassembling the silent block, carry out the following steps according to the corresponding
repair instructions in the service manual, observing the safety instructions given.
1.
Block the trailer wheels at the front and rear to prevent the trailer from moving.
OBSERVATION
Risk of shifting
If you do not use chocks, the vehicle may move, which may result in serious injury or death.
Secure the vehicle with chocks to prevent movement.
2.
Evacuate all air from the suspension system.
3.
Mount the jacks on the axle
4.
Remove the link arm trunnions from the suspension bracket.
5.
Remove the shock absorbers from the suspension
6.
Lower the axle
