Safety distances (FIG 1 - FIG 4)
Ensure that the safety distances are complied with.
Please note that these safety distances can vary from
country to country.
The distance from the door of the insert to inflammable
materials/furniture must be at least 1 m.
The distance from the glass of the insert to inflammable
wall must be at least 570 mm.
The distance from the air vent of the surround to
inflammable material must be at least 380 mm.
The distance from the flue/smoke dome to inflammable
material needs to be at least 300 mm. If the flue goes
through an inflammable wall, brickwork must be added
so this distance to inflammable wall is at least 230 mm.
*The distance in the illustration shows the approximate
height of the middle of the perforation in the chimney
assuming that the surround is installed 100 mm from
the wall. The distance will vary depending on where the
surround is installed as the flue is inclining. Dry stack
the fireplace until the mantelpiece element for accurate
height and positioning of the flue/chimney connection.
Also mark out possibly hole** for fresh air supply
through the floor.
FIG A: If the fireplace is mounted free standing the
minimum distance from the back of the surround to
inflammable wall must be at least 250 mm.

FIG 6 / FIG 12: To prevent the concrete from cracking,
fill concrete paste on top of the carrying steel to avoid
347 kg
any possible gap.
351 kg
FIG 15 / FIG 22: Replace the legs of the insert with the
ones included in the packaging of Tokyo.
If the fireplace is connected to a chimney at the top, the
smoke lid must be moved to the rear flue outlet.
FIG 16 / FIG 23: Make sure there is a gap between the
insert and the surround as the insert expand with heat.
Also read the section about adjustment.
FIG 18 / FIG 25 / FIG 30: Gently knock out the
perforation for the flue if the fireplace is mounted laterally.
Fresh air supply (accessory)
See also separate assembly instructions for "fresh air
supply".
FIG 32: When connecting the fresh air supply through a
wall, it is necessary to make a hole in the surround with
an angle grinder so that the pipe can be inserted from
the side.
FIG 33: When connecting the fresh air supply through
the floor, on Tokyo High and Low, the pipe is conducted
along the inside of bench. In Tokyo Slim there is
already a hole** in one of the legs through which the
pipe is conducted (see illustration). In order to prevent
condensation, the leg can be filled with insulation.
