The length of cooking time depends on the following characteristics of foods:
Beginning temperature:
Density:
Humidity:
Form:
Weight:
The foods should be covered in order to
o accelerate the heating process ,
o to avoid the drying up of foods,
o to avoid fat splashes in the cooking chamber.
Exceptions: Bread, pastries/cookies, bread-coated foods and those foods, that shall
stay crispy should not be covered.
o In case you are heating larger amounts, make sure you stir up the foods from
time to time.
o Pasta or rice should be moistened and buttered (cover).
o Foods with a high moisture content should be covered with a microwave-proof
plate (do not use aluminum foil).
o Large amounts of frozen foods should be defrosted in intervals (step-by-step).
o Do not cover steaks and other foods with a dry surface.
