Cleaning the smoke diversion channel
Above the combustion chamber proper is the smoke diversion channel and after-burning zone, in
which the heating gases are first diverted before being transported to the chimney.
The post-combustion zone and smoke diversion channel must be cleaned at least once a year, or more
often if necessary.
To do this, open the stove door and unscrew the hexagonal head nut M6 x 20
. The hexagonal
head nut is screwed in with an M6 nut and 2 washers - socket spanner size 10 mm.
After removing the bolt, nut, washer and stone holder
, the deflector plates
can be removed
one by one downwards.
Now the post-combustion zone and the smoke duct up to the smoke duct connection can be cleaned
with a suitable brush. Fly ash and soot settle in the lower part of the flue pipe. These residues are best
removed with a suitable ash hoover.
