9) Check the clutch wire has a 3/5 mm clearance between the regulator and the lever.
10) Fill the tank with fuel using a funnel provided with a fine filter.
11) Check liquid levels when the machine is horizontal.
Before starting the engine, always check:
– The oil level of the engine (fig. 3) and the gearbox; the level cap is on the upper cover (fig.4); the oil
level must be between the two notches.
– That all the screws and nuts are well tightened.
– That all the levers are set at neutral.
– That the air filter is well cleaned (fig. 5)
– That the clutch lever has a little clearance (fig. 6).
– Fill the fuel tank using a filter funnel with a very fine filter.
Once the engine has started, gradually disengage the choke and accelerate slowly.
Let the engine heat up for a few minutes before starting work.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Open the fuel tap, push the throttle lever half-way and if the engine is cold, use the choke on the
carburettor.
Take hold of the knob and pull slowly until resistance is felt. Start with a decisive tug: in any case follow
the directions in the engine booklet (Fig. 1A - rif. 3).
STARTING THE MACHINE
Move the gear change lever into the desired position, if the gear does not engage immediately, give a
few light touches on the clutch. Press the clutch slowly until the machine starts to move (Fig. 6).
STARTING WORK
Engage the P.T.O. (fig. 1 - rif. 9). Accelerate the motor as needed and press the clutch lever to start work.
FINISHING WORK
To stop the engine when the job is finished press the red button on the handlebar, or use the stop
device which is positioned on the engine (see the attached engine manual), set the gear in neutral
position and close the fuel tap.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING
The following is a list of small problems which can occur when using the GF2 and which can be solved
directly by the user:
1) The engine doesn't start: for engine check the following in this order:
– the fuel tank should be at least half-full;
– the petrol tap should be open;
– the choke should be set at ON (when engine is cold);
– fuel must reach the carburettor;
– the mesh filter at the entrance to the carburettor input must be clean;
– the carburettor jets must be clean. To check, unscrew them and if they are dirty, clean with
compressed air;
