Note: Leave the bell and whistle alone when the train is stopped or do not activate
them when the train is running slowly in order not to run down the battery. The bell
and whistle cannot be activated at the same time.
Acceleration Delay
This tender is equipped with an acceleration delay feature so that the tender and the
locomotive run at the same speed. The acceleration delay can be adjusted. Inside the
tender, you will find a two-conductor dip switch identified as „S2":
– Both switches „OFF": Acceleration delay turned on, normal delay (factory setting).
– Switch 1 „ON", Switch 2 „OFF": Acceleration delay turned on, reduced delay.
– Both switches „ON": Acceleration delay turned off, no delay.
Note: When the acceleration delay is shut off, the sound will not work when the
locomotive is running slowly.
Multi-Train System
This model is equipped with a decoder interface connection for plugging in a
decoder. An LGB MTS decoder (55021) can be installed in this model for use with the
LGB Multi-Train System. The additional decoder cable (55026) is not required. We
recommend having the decoder installed by the LGB Service Department.
Notes:
– When installing a decoder, the dip switches for the multi-train system are set at
„OFF". These switches remain in this position even if the locomotive equipped with
a decoder is being used on an analog layout.
– If the tender is equipped with a 55021 decoder (with load compensation control),
the two-conductor dip switch S2 (see acceleration delay) must absolutely remain
at „ON". The load compensation feature for the motor will not work correctly with
the switch set at „OFF".
MAINTENANCE
Lubrication
Oil the axle bearings now and then with a drop of Märklin oil (7149).
Replacing the Light
Lamp (above in the rear): Pull the lamp housing from the model. Remove the plugged
in light bulb from the socket. Insert a new light bulb. Put the model back together.
