5.0 Maintenance of the stove
Daily/ when using pellets:
When you add pellets, you should brush the "burn cave" clear of ashes and cinders. Wait until the stove is
cold. Open the door to the combustion chamber and lift the front of the "burn cave" (the black cast iron cone
with the Aduro logo). Brush the ashes and the cinders into the grate towards the ash pan. Avoid brushing
ashes and cinders down into the pellet snail. Put back the front of the "burn cave."
Empty the ash pan when needed.
Regularly when needed:
Ashes
Empty the ash pan before it gets completely full. Always leave a layer of ashes in the stove because it
insulates and makes it easier to light a fire.
Remove the burner cavity and clean the top screw conveyor for ashes with a vacuum cleaner. This is done
easiest by making a "paper ring" of paper roll, which is laid around the opening of the snail. Then press the
vacuum cleaner muzzle down towards the "paper ring" so it fits tightly. After this, the ashes can be
vacuumed up.
Glass
If the wood you burn is too moist, you will get soot stains on the glass pane. They can be easily removed
using a damp cloth that you dip in cold ash and rub on the sooty glass. Special cleaning agents are also
available to remove soot from glass, i.e. the Aduro Easy Clean pad.
Pellet box
Burn all pellets and brush the box clean.
Periodically – after about 500 hours of use:
If the stove is placed in dusty surroundings, it can be necessary to clean the ventilator.
Yearly:
To be carried out when the pellet container has been emptied for wood pellets.
Burn all pellets. Disconnect the power to the stove and wait until it's cold.
Remove the vermiculite panels from the burning chamber. First, remove the side panels, then the exhaust
deflector, and at last the back panel. Dust off the panels and the inside of the stove to remove dust. Remove
the burnng cave incl. bottom and grate. First, remove the burning cave's loose front piece, then carefully
remove the burning cave's bottom/grate.
Hoover hollow area behind the ash pan, around the snail and hollow area left of the snail. Remove the cover
left of the snail and hoover in the hollow area.
Clean pellet box, combustion chamber, burn cave and smoke ways (often done by the chimney sweep). The
box must be dry and clean. We recommend a yearly service check where a trained Aduro service partner
does the following:
•
Dismount the rear plate.
•
Inspect and clean fan.
•
Dismount side plate above electrical igniter and inspect this. Replace if needed, deformation or
other.
•
Dismount side plate above secondary snail. (Little snail)
•
Dismount gear-motor and snail. Clean snail and pipes. Inspect. Change o-ring and disc on internal
auger.
•
Test damper switch and door switch.
•
Dismount screws at control and carefully pull the cassette 20 cm out.
•
Clean control with vacuum cleaner, brush or air.
•
Assemble stove, connect power and add pellets.
•
Snail must be filled with pellets, see first time start-up.
