ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
When this manual refers to a part number, it refers to the
included Parts List.
Use the exploded drawing in the Parts Breakdown as your guide
to assemble the shop press. Lay all parts and assemblies out in
front of you before beginning. A second person will make several
steps easier to carry out.
Begin assembly on a horizontal surface. The shop press will be
raised upright during assembly. The following procedure is
recommended:
1.
Position the base section (#4) so the middle bolt holes align
with the bolt holes at the bottom of the post (#8). Insert two
bolts (#1) through the base section and post. Place the lower
bar (#19) onto the protruding bolts and secure with flat
washers (#5), lock washers (#6) and nuts (#7).
2.
Repeat with other end of the lower crossbeam, post and
base section.
3.
Connect each of the four support bars (#3) to the post and
base section with bolts (#2), flat washers (#5), lock
washers (#6) and nuts (#7).
4.
Attach the upper crossbeam (#12) to a left and right post (#8)
using bolts (#11), lock washers (#9) and nuts (#10). Do not insert
a bolt in the lower front bolt holes. See the next step.
5.
Lift the shop press upright.
6.
Attach the big roller assembly (#30, 41, 49, 50 and 32) to
the top left post. Insert the bolt from inside the post
through the lower bolt hole in the post and upper
crossbeam. Secure with a lock washer (#9) and nut (#10).
7.
Attach the small roller assembly (#30, 51, 52, 31 and 32) to
the top right post. Insert the bolt from inside the post
through the lower bolt hole in the post and upper
crossbeam. Secure with a lock washer (#9) and nut (#10).
