Mounting the Protective
Devices
Before any work on the machine itself, re-
move the battery.
Auxiliary Handle
When working with the machine, the auxil-
iary handle 4 must be mounted.
Screw in the auxiliary handle 4 on the right or left
of the machine head depending on the chosen
working method.
Protection Guard
The protection guard 6 must be mounted
when working with grinding or cutting
wheels.
Open the clamping lever 7.
Die Schutzhaube 6 der Abbildung entsprechend
auf den Spindelhals des Gerätekopfes setzen.
Die Codiernocken der Schutzhaube müssen mit
den entsprechenden Aussparungen am Spindel-
hals übereinstimmen. Dabei auf die richtige Posi-
tion der Werkzeugaufnahme 5 achten.
Press the protection guard onto the spindle collar
until the collar of the protection guard faces
against the flange of the machine and the encod-
ing keys engage in the circular groove at the spin-
dle collar.

Rotate the protection guard 6 in clockwise direc-
tion to the required position (working position).
Adjust the protection guard 6 in such a man-
ner that sparks are not emitted in the direc-
tion of the operator.
To fasten the protective hood 6, close the clamp-
ing lever 7.
Note: The coded notches on the protection
guard 6 ensure that only a protection hood that
fits the machine type can be mounted.
Disassemble in the reverse sequence.

In case of visible damage to the SDS-pro
clamping system, the machine must not be
used any further. The machine must be sent
to an after-sales service agent (see section
"After-Sales Service and Customer Assis-
tance" for address).
Mounting
The spindle is locked by pressing the SDS-pro re-
lease button 14.
Observe the dimensions of the grinding discs.
Use only original grinding discs for the Bosch
SDS-pro system.
Clean the tool holder and all parts to be mounted.

Mounting the grinding tools
(accessories)
Before any work on the machine itself, re-
move the battery.
Use only grinding tools whose allowable
speed is at least as high as the idling speed
of the machine.
Roughing and cutting discs can become
very hot during operation; therefore, pro-
tective gloves must be worn.
