Protect the grinding wheel from impact, shock
and grease.
Observe the manufacturer's instructions re-
garding mounting and use of grinding tools.
Apply the machine to the workpiece only when
switched on.
Keep hands away from rotating grinding tools.
Pay attention to the direction of rotation. Al-
ways hold the machine so that sparks and
grinding dust fly away from the body.
Flying sparks are produced when grinding
metal, so make sure that no persons are en-
dangered. Because of a possible fire hazard,
no combustible materials should be nearby
(spark flying zone).
Hold the power tool only by the insulated
grip when the tool being used might make
contact with hidden wiring.
Contact with a "live" wire will make exposed
metal parts of the tool "live" and shock the op-
erator.
Use appropriate detectors to determine if
utility lines are hidden in the work area or
call the local utility company for assis-
tance.
Contact with electric lines can lead to fire and
electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead
to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes
property damage.
Blocking the cutting disc leads to a strong jerk-
ing reaction of the machine. If this happens,
switch off the machine immediately.
Never use cutting discs for rough grinding. Do
not exert any lateral pressure on the cutting
discs.
Caution! The grinding wheel keeps running af-
ter the machine has been switched off.
Do not tighten the machine in a vise.
Never allow children to use the machine.
Bosch can only guarantee a flawless function-
ing of the machine if the original accessories
intended for it are used.
Battery and Battery Charger
The enclosed operating instructions for the
battery charger must be read carefully!
Recharge only with the charger specified
by the manufacturer. A charger that is suit-
able for one type of battery pack may create a
risk of fire when used with another battery
pack.
Allow heated batteries to cool before charging.

Protect the battery from heat and fire: Explo-
sion risk! Do not place the battery on radiators
or expose it to strong sun rays for a long time
period; temperatures over 50 °C cause dam-
age.
Do not open the battery and protect from im-
pact. Store in a dry and frost-free place.
When not using the battery pack, keep it
away from other metal objects like paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other
small metal objects that could create a
shorting contact between the terminals.
A shorting contact between the battery termi-
nals could cause burns or a fire.
Do not dump the battery into the household
waste, fire or water.
Intended Use
The machine is intended for roughing and cutting
of metal materials. With corresponding diamond
cutting discs, the machine may also be used to
cut tiles. When using the rubber sanding pad (ac-
cessory) with suitable sanding discs, the machine
can also be used to sand surfaces.
Before Use
Battery Charging
A battery that is new or has not been used for a
longer period does not develop its full capacity
until after approximately 5 charging /discharging
cycles.
To remove the battery 1, press the battery un-
locking buttons 2 and pull out the battery to the
rear. Do not exert any force.
The battery is equipped with an NTC temperature
monitor which allows charging only within a tem-
perature range of 0 °C to 45 °C. This will prolong
the service life of the battery.
A significantly reduced working period after
charging indicates a used up battery that must be
replaced.
Observe the indications regarding environ-
mental protection.
