UNIT INSTALLATION
Proceed as follows to install the unit:
- Open the machine's cardboard packaging, remove the
upper part of the packaging material used to protect the
unit during transport.
- Lift the unit carefully.
Do not handle the unit using the refrigerator attach-
ments but use the specific brackets (fig. 4).
- If it is necessary to fit any kit (electrical resistors, fresh air kit
or delivery to an adjacent room) do these operations before
installing the machine on the ceiling.
- Choose where to install the machine according to the
layout of the room, the number of units to be installed
and any limitations imposed by the architecture. Check
that it is possible in the position chosen to remove the
panels of the suspended ceiling sufficiently for the instal-
lation and maintenance of the machine.
- Install four M8 threaded rods into the ceiling to hold the
frame.
- Lift the machine using the brackets and keeping it slightly incli-
ned, attach it to the 4 threaded bars using 8 nuts, 4 of which
self-locking. Operate the nuts to regulate the height, check
finally that the machine is installed in a horizontal position.
- Bring the refrigerant lines through the suspended ceiling
in correspondence to the unit's attachment plate;
- Carry out the refrigerant connections as described in the
related chapter.
- Lead the condensate drainage pipe to the respective fit-
ting on the attachment plate;
- Make the condensate drainage connection as described in
the relative chapter.
- Lead the connection cables to the respective terminals
and make all the connections as indicated in the wiring
diagrams;
ASSEMBLY AND DISMANTLING OF ACCESSORIES
If it is necessary to fit any kit (electrical resistors, fresh air kit
or delivery to an adjacent room) it is necessary to remove
the polystyrene cabinet from the unit, fit the kits and refit
the cabinet on the unit as follows:
DISMANTLING
- remove the electronic card box from the cabinet by
undoing the two screws (fig. 6).
- Dismantle the conveyor (fig. 7) installed on the cabinet by
undoing the four self-threading screws fixing it to the
polystyrene structure.
- Undo the four fixing screws of the cabinet (fig. 8);
ASSEMBLY
- Position the cabinet over the unit being careful to couple it
properly with the attachment plates; apply the four
brackets (8 for the double versions) in their housing in the
cabinet and screws the coil brackets onto them (fig. 8).
CAUTION!! tighten the screws with maximum tightening
torque of 0.45 Nm, you are advised to use a screwdriver,
do not use non calibrated electric screwdrivers. The basin
will be damaged irreparably if tightened up too tight.
- Mount the conveyor on the cabinet.
- Remount the cabinet's electronic card box using the two
previously removed screws (fig. 10).
- Execute the electric connections to the connectors of the
electronic card (GLA-R grille receiver, Defrost probe,
motor power supply, and if provided the heating element
accessories ) (fig. 12).
CONNECTIONS
The water, condensate drainage and electrical circuit ducts
must be provided for.
• E
LECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
The indoor and external units must have the electrical con-
nections done as shown in the wiring diagrams provided
together with the devices.
The unit's mains line must be protected by a thermal-
magnetic circuit breaker.
The ECA cassette-type air conditioners must be powered with
current 1 ~ 230 V 50 Hz and have an earth connection, the
line voltage must remain within an area of tolerance of
±10% of the nominal value.
To protect the units against short circuits, install a thermal-
magnetic omnipolar circuit breaker (IG) with a minimum
opening distance of the contacts of 3mm (see "wiring dia-
grams" chapter).
The electrical power cable must be of the H07 V-K or N07
V-K type with 450/750V insulation if inside a tube or
raceway. Use cables with double H5vv-F type insulation for
visible cable installation.
Follow the wiring diagram with the equipment and shown
in this document when making the connections.
The four-speed fan speed permits various connection alter-
natives, connect the cables from the control panel to the ter-
minals of the three speeds chosen.
• R
EFRIGERATING CONNECTIONS
The refrigeration attachments of the ECA units are shown in
TAB 10.
This air conditioner uses R410A refrigerant, some cuts can
be combined with external units that use R407C refrigera-
ting gas.
The combinations permitted among the units are described in
the is manual in chapter " VERSIONS AND SIZES AVAILABLE".
Before any intervention, make sure what type of refrige-
rant the outside unit is charged with, only use equipment
that is suitable for the gas used.
Never use different gas when topping up the refrigerant in
the system.
Follow the instructions below:
1. Keep all open pipe ends sealed closed with a plug or other
item until all connections have been made.
2. Proceed with extreme caution while connecting the
piping so water, dirt, etc. do not enter into the pipes or the
system.
3. The pipes connected to the internal and external units
must be new. The required thickness for the pipes is 0.8 mm
or higher.
4. Only use refrigerant that conforms with that already loa-
ded in the outdoor unit when topping up the refrigerant in
the system. Do not in any case add lubricating oil to the
system.
5. In order to prevent accidental filling with other refrigerants
in the outdoor units containing R410A gas , the diameter of
the three-way valve service connection is (1/2").
To prepare the copper pipe, proceed as follows:
- cut the current length of copper pipe using a pipe cutter;
- smooth the ends using a flaring end;
- isolate the tubes and insert the conical nuts before coun-
tersinking;
- for countersinking, use a conical pipe flanger;
- check that the conical surface is centred on the pipe, is
smooth and does not have any fractures and has a
uniform thickness.Proceed as follows for the refrigerant
lines:
- pass the lines, the condensate drain tube and the electric
cables through the hole prepared in the wall so the ends
of the lines coincide with the unit's connections (before
passing them through the hole, close the ends with tape
so dirt will not enter); );
- make the refrigerant line connections in correspondence
to the internal unit;
