3 Safety instructions
•
Electrical connections must only be established and interrupted in the absence of voltage!
•
Use low-voltage only (max. 24 V DC) as supply power for the IO-Link D/A interface, as well as at its
inputs and outputs.
•
The IO-Link D/A interface may only be used in systems for which a safe status is reached automatically
when voltage is switched off.
•
Use only the connecting cables recommended by Festo Didactic for electrical connections between the
IO-Link D/A interface and the process.
•
Observe the specifications included in the data sheets for the connected devices, in particular all safety
instructions!
•
Please note that due to its open design the 19" variant is susceptible to static charging in the
uninstalled state.
4 The IO-Link D/A interface
The IO-Link D/A interface is used as an interface between industrial fieldbuses and digital and analogue
I/O signals.
Festo's corresponding fieldbus modules CTEU for the respective fieldbus types can be connected to the
device.
An IO-Link-compatible controller can address the device without the help of any other components. For
example, the Festo controller CECC-LK can be used to communicate with the IO-Link D/A interface.
