Water renewal
6.4
When the machine is being installed, the Quali ed
Technician must replace the water inside the hydraulic
circuits by following these steps:
• when the installation is complete, the appliance must
be started, brought to nominal working condition and
left in the "ready-to-operate" status for 30 minutes;
• next, the appliance must be turned o and water fully
ushed in order to eliminate any initial impurities;
• the appliance must be lled again with water and
brought to nominal working conditions;
• upon reaching the "ready-to-operate" status, the
following operations must be performed:
- continually dispense from each co ee group, in
order to empty at least 0.5 litres from the co ee cir-
cuit. If there are several dispensing points attached
to the same exchanger/ co ee heating unit, divide
the volume by the number of dispensing points;
-
ush the heating unit of all its hot water (6 litres
for 2GR, 8 litres for 3GR, 11 litres for 4GR), by con-
tinually dispensing from the appropriate nozzle.
If there are multiple dispensing points, divide the
volume by the number of dispensing points;
- continuously release steam for at least 1 minute
from each steam dispensing point.
If the machine remains idle for longer than a week, a Quali ed
Technician must renew 100% of the water inside the hydraulic
circuits, as indicated above.

Preparing the machine

6.5.1 Grinding and dosing co ee
It is important to have a grinder-dispenser device
next to the machine so that the co ee can be ground
on a daily basis.
The co ee must be ground and dispensed according
to instructions provided by the manufacturer of the
grinder-dispenser. The following points should also be
kept in mind:
• to make good espresso, we recommend that you do
not store large amounts of co ee beans. Comply with
the expiry date indicated by the producer;
• never grind large amounts of co ee; it is advisable to
prepare the amount that can be held in the dosing
device and, if possible,
use it by the end of the
day;
• do not buy pre-ground
coffee, as it perishes
quickly. If necessary,
buy co ee in small vac-
uum-sealed packs.
6.5.2 Preparing the lter holder
• Fill the lter with a dose of ground co ee (approx. 6-7
g) and compress it with the press;
• hook the lter holder to the group without closing
it too tightly in order to prevent the gasket from
wearing quickly;
• for the same reason it is recommended that the edge
of the filter is cleaned before attaching the filter
holder to the dispensing group;
• follow the procedures speci ed by the manufacturer
of the grinder-dispenser.
6.5.3 Raised cup grilles
When using cups with di erent heights, use special
retractable grilles (7) that are supplied with the machine.
To use the pull-out grille, extract it from its storage
position by pulling it outwards until it is fully locked in
position.
When the grille is
no longer needed,
push it back in to-
wards the machine
until it disappears
completely into its
storage position.
