Setup
Guidelines
- Check that the control unit is working before inserting the batteries in the device.
- Check that the control unit is within the communication working range while the
device is in use.
- A device may be removed from the system only after having removed the battery.
Connecting to the system
The detector must be learnt by the control unit to transmit the signal if motion is
detected. Proceed as follows to perform the device learning procedure.
The detector may be learnt by the control unit only within three minutes from
switch-on.
1. Remove the sun visor fastening screws to remove this component.
Remove the battery compartment cover to open the battery compartment and the
dip switches.
2. If necessary, configure the dip switches; for information on setting, see the table
provided above.
3. Insert the two lithium batteries "AA" L91 in the battery compartment, taking care to
observe the polarity.
4. Make sure that the Tamper switch is open (released) before proceeding to
the next step.
5. Within three minutes from switch-on, hold the function button pressed for 10
seconds and then release it when the red LED and the illuminator blink once.
Make sure that the learn function has been activated on the control unit.
6. After having been leant by the control unit, the detector is automatically recorded
in the system. Check the control unit to check that the learning and
registration procedure were performed correctly.
7. Once learnt by the control unit, if the detector connection is lost, the LED will blink
for 20 minutes to signal the fault.
Restoring default settings
If the detector has not been learnt correctly by the control unit, or if you want to remove it
and associated to another control unit, restore the default settings to eliminate the settings
and the information stored in the detector before being able to associate it with another
control unit.
To restore the default settings:
1.
Remove the batteries and refit them. WARNING: The detector must be reset
within three minute from switch-on.
2.
The tamper switch must be open (released).
3.
Hold the function button pressed for 10 seconds, then release it as soon as
the blue LED blinks once.
4.
The detector was reset to the default factory settings and all the previous network information were deleted. The
detector is no longer present on the "Devices" page.
Installation
Installation guidelines
It is advisable to install the detector as shown below.
2.3 m (calculated from the lower part of the
device)
from
performance.
In a corner to have the widest view possible.
In the point in which a possible intruder would
normally cross the field of vision of the detector.
The detector provides a detection range of 12 m
if mounted at 2.3 m from the ground.
Restrictions:
Do not expose the detector to direct sunlight.
Do not install it in areas exposed to sudden changes of temperature, for example near air conditioners or heaters.
Avoid the presence of large size obstacles in the detection area.
Do not aim it directly towards sources of heat, such as stoves or boilers, or over radiators.
Remove all light-reflecting surfaces from the detection area, including puddles.
The working temperature of the detector is comprised between -10°C and 45°C.
