Wireless Foto Gong 23-082
Fitting and operating instruction
Description
Foto Gong unit 23-082 is a door chime with inbuilt
wireless receiver technology.
The receiver has three different chimes and in that
way it can identify three different transmitters. When
the receiver receives a signal from a particular
transmitter, a gong sound chimes and indicates the
presence of a person via a wireless door button or
wireless PIR sensor.
A flexible solution that indicates the presence of
people and can be used in homes, small offices,
businesses and shops.
Wireless Foto Gong 23-082 is based on radio
frequency technology, which gives a flexible system.
- 50 metre range for large areas.
- Positioning as required.
- Suitable for different premises: in the home,
office, workplaces and small shops.
Channel setting
The transmitter and receiver communicate with each
other by using the same channel. The transmitter is
factory set to system channel "I" and product
channels "7", "9" and "11". You should ensure that
both channels are the same on transmitter and
receiver.
In this way the user can select the particular
transmitter units to be connected to channels "7", "9"
and "11" respectively.
If the user requires a different channel setting,
because other systems are using the same channel,
the user must change the channels on both
transmitter and receiver.
The system channel can be changed on the
backside of the unit. Fig. 1
Installation
1. Fit the wireless unit 23-080 higher than 1 m above
the floor, as the floor will absorb the transmitter
signal and reduce the range. A position high
above the floor provides the best reception
conditions. Fig. 2
2. Position the transmitter and receiver within the
effective range.
3. Position the receiver at least 1 metre from parts of
the building that conduct electricity, such as
aluminium doors and windows, metal sheeting
and electrical cables.
4. Avoid thick walls and metal fences that can screen
and block the radio waves and reduce the range.
Several receivers should be fitted at least 2 m apart,
in order not to reduce the range to the transmitters.
Function and operation
The wireless unit 23-082 has three chimes. The unit
can receive from three different transmitters in three
different places and allows each transmitter to have
its own chime.
A potentiometer controls the loudness of the chime,
as well as switching it on and off. Fig. 3.
If a signal is received from a transmitter's product
channel 7, the receiver will emit a "ding".
If the transmitter's product channel is 9, the receiver
will emit a "ding-dong". (Factory setting)
If the transmitter's product channel is 11, the receiver
will emit a "Big Ben" tune.
The receiver cannot emit a new tune until the previous
one has finished.
The adapter 23-513 powers the unit 23-082.
Troubleshooting
When the receiver does not function satisfactorily,
the following points can be of assistance
Problem:
The 23-082 unit does not emit a chime.
1. No power supply from the adapter.
2. Transmitter and receiver have different codes. 2. Check that the transmitter codes are either 7,
3. Volume potentiometer is switched off.
4. Outside effective range.
5. Interference from other units.
The unit 23-082 sounds abnormal.
1. The associated transmitter is functioning
abnormally.
Possible cause:
Proposed solution:
1. Switch on supply to adapter.
9 or 11.
3. Ensure that the volume button is switched on.
4. Check that the transmitter and receiver are
within the effective range.
5. Check that there are no other wireless
systems interfering with the transmitter and
receiver.
1. Ensure that the transmitter is functioning
correctly.
