I. Description – purpose
of use
y The Fortum® 4770664 Professional
Rivet Drill Adapter is designed to be
clamped in the chuck head of a cordle-
ss drill, electric drill or pneumatic drill
for the installation of size M3, M4,
M5, M6, M8, M10, M12 rivet nuts , made from alumi-
nium, steel and stainless steel. Pulling the rivet nut will
create a strong material joint.
y Thanks to its integrated handle, it is possible to use
the rivet drill adapter for rivet nuts of size of up to
M12 and, at the same time, this handle increases the
comfort during the installation of rivet nuts of smaller
dimensions since the handle helps to better cope with
the effects of the torsion force that is generated when
rivet nuts are pulled.
y The rivet drill adapter fully replaces a self-powered
riveter and since a drill is a standard piece of workshop
or household equipment, one can have the rivet drill
adapter as an supplementary drill accessory at a lower
purchase price than a dedicated electric or pneumatic
riveter.

ATTENTION
y During work, use certified eye and ear protection
with a sufficient level of protection and suitable
protective finger rubber gloves, e.g. half-dipped
in nitrile or polyurethane (PU).
DRILL REQUIREMENTS
a) Requirements for max. torque values relative
to the size and material of the rivet nut.
•
ATTENTION
y Table 1 presents the maximum permissible tightening
torque values for pulling rivet nuts with respect to their
material and size. Using a higher torque frequently
results in the thread of the rivet mandrel being torn out
of the rivet nut (particularly on small rivet nuts), which
damages the tread of the rivet mandrel.
y In the column „Recommended minimum drill torque"
there are torque values that the drill should be able to
achieve, representing torque values that are used for
the rivet nut material of the specified size, but express
the recommended „drill power" such that when the
maximum permitted torque is set the drill motor is not
overloaded.
