With the Measure key you will be able to choose the measure in the available list:
−
Check sat
−
Level/Power
−
BER/MER
−
Measurement map
−
Spectrum
If you choose the check sat mode you will only be able to
point at the satellites. In that case, the pointing screen
appears automatically after you switch on the instrument.
You will enter the measures with a press on the rotary wheel.
1 - POINTING
17 orbital positions of satellites have already been saved in the instrument. Each satellite has got
4 transponders (refer to the table, next page).
To detect the satellite, we have used the symbol rates of 22,000 and 27,500 Ms/s. We
have selected frequencies for each transponder in low bands and high bands, and we
have used vertical horizontal and polarizations. Thus, the link is fully and fast qualified.
Instructions for use:
1/ Please connect first the satellite dish to the instrument
and switch it on.
2/ Then validate the remote supply:
−
Press the configuration key
−
Select SUPPLY with the rotary wheel (rotation)
−
Select the parameter also with the rotary wheel (press)
−
Change the « OFF » with a rotation of the rotary wheel.
The VDC indicator light comes on.
Check the remote supply current (approx. 200 mA).
3/ Return to the measure mode by pressing the key.
−
Choose the satellite you want to point at (by rotation and a press on the rotary wheel)
−
Choose a transponder (by rotation and a press on the rotary wheel)
4/ Slowly adjust the satellite dish until you can hear a melody and get the maximum of level.
5/ Adjust the LNB position to get the best quality (polarity)
6/ Finally check the 3 other transponders to be sure that you are on the desired satellite.
When using the check sat mode, the parameters of the 4 transponders corresponding
to the satellite you have selected fit into the 4 first setups of the numerical table of
parameters. Thus, when using the expert mode, you will be able to perform
Level/Power or BER/MER measures by recalling them. Caution: to avoid losing the
parameters originally stored, it is necessary to memorize the numerical table of
parameters before using the check sat mode in order to recall it later.
