The SEFRAM 7805B field strength meter is a hand-held instrument designed for installing and
maintaining satellite networks.
It provides 5 different measure types: → accessible by a press on the key
−
Check sat
−
Level/Power
−
BER/MER
−
Measurement map
−
Spectrum
It offers 2 different operating modes: → accessible by a press on the key
−
Check sat mode: an easier mode that will only enable you to do a very fast pointing of
satellites.
−
Expert mode: a mode where you will have an access to all the measures.
Five function keys and a rotary wheel are used to operate the instrument. They are on the
front panel:
The ON/OFF button to switch on and switch off the instrument.
With the Parameter key you will enter the numerical table with at the same time :
- the LNB parameters
- A setup list providing the parameters corresponding to different
transponders.
With the Measure key you will be able to choose the measure from the available list.
The Save key is used to store configurations and measures.
The Configuration key allows you to choose the operating mode and the Unit of
measure you want to work with, to recall the measures and configurations previously
saved or to set the date and time, etc.
The rotary wheel makes it possible to choose whatever parameter you want to
change (by rotation), to select it or cancel the selection (by pressing the key) and
finally to modify the digit currently affected (by rotation).
The VDC indicator light (on the front panel) comes on when the remote supply is connected
with the RF input. A voltage is then injected.
The BNC signal input, also called RF input, is on the front panel of the instrument.
On the back panel, you will find:
−
A jack that allows the external power supply of the instrument as well as the charging of
the battery.
−
A mini DIN input that provides a RS232 link and thus allows the updating of data file and
the connection to a computer with the TR7836 transfer software.
