8.1.2. Controlling the ion balance

On the pcb's the "B" control (ion balance) is not active. To activate it, remove the
interconnection JP-1 from both the pcb's.
The control enables you to control the positive and negative ion balance of the connected
4 kV ionization equipment. As a result, the remaining charge on the material can be set with a
potential of +/- 30 Volt max. (with conditions unchanged). For this purpose, you must measure
with an "electrostatic field meter". For a good ion balance control, the potentiometers of both
pcb's must be adjusted.
Warning:
 To adjust the ion balance the power unit must be switched on. You may get into
contact with live parts.
1. Remove jumpers JP-1 from both pcb's.
2. Switch the power unit on.
3. Measure the static charge on the material after treatment with the ionization equipment
4. Turn the "Balance" potentiometers until the desired setting has been reached.
