6.3 "High voltage ON" remote signalling

The "High voltage ON" signal allows remote checking of whether there is high voltage at the
output of the MPM. With the "High voltage ON" signal, an external signal or PLC can
be activated, for example.
Contacts 4 and 6 of the I/O connector are internally connected when high voltage is present.
The maximum permissible current is 50 mA. The maximum permissible voltage is 30 V DC.
See appendix 1 for wiring diagrams.

6.4 "Overload" remote signalling

The "overload" signal allows remote checking of whether there is overloading or short-circuiting
of the high voltage at the output of the MPM. With the "overload" signal, an external signal or
PLC can be activated, for example. Contacts 5 and 7 of the I/O connector are internally
connected when there is overloading or short-circuiting of the high voltage. The maximum
permissible current is 50 mA. The maximum permissible voltage is 30 V DC. See appendix 1 for
wiring diagrams.
6.5 External 24 V DC voltage
This voltage is used for extra accessories or for the remote High voltage On/Off function. The
maximum current this external power can supply is 100 mA. The 24 V DC supply is short-circuit
protected.
When the 24 V DC supply is overloaded or short-circuited, it switches off and the LED [Power]
flashes quickly (twice a second). The 24 V DC supply will switch on every 2 seconds and switch
off again until the overload or short-circuit is rectified.
See appendix 1 for wiring diagrams.

6.6 Ion balance control

The Ion balance control can control the positive and negative ion balance of the connected
ionisation equipment. This allows the remaining charge on the material to be discharged to be
greatly reduced. This does not work with capacitively coupled (shockless) bars such as (E)P-
Sh-N and MEB bars.
To switch on the Ion balance, dipswitch 2 must be switched to the [ON] position. To switch
dipswitch 2, the MPM cover must be temporarily removed (Figure 3). The Ion balance can then
be gradually controlled with a voltage of 0 - 10 V DC. At 0 V DC the ion balance is at its most
negativelevel and at 10 V DC it is at its most positive. At 5 V DC, the positive element of the
