OPERATION: How weight is determined or tared out
The PE360 DeltaRange and the PE3600 DeltaRange allow you to weigh very easily in two different ranges: either the coarse range, or the fine range whose readability
is 10 times greater and which can be shifted to any place within the entire balance weighing range. This fine range extends from the zero display in both plus and
minus direction. Besides, the PE balance measures one decimal place more than it displays, thus increasing the display accuracy of PE balances even more.
Taring means setting the display to zero again while a given weight (e.g. a container) is on the weighing pan. In this way, it is possible to always weigh in starting
with the zero display. Only the weight of the weighed-in object appears in the display. Of course, combined container weight and object to be weighed may not exceed
the balance weighing range.
Weighing
– Briefly press the control bar (1); tte sest the
display to zero.
– Place object on pan.
– Read weight display when stability detector
lamp (15) no longer lights.
The fine range is available starting from the zero
position, i.e. the display indicates an additional
decimal place.
If the fine range is exceeded, this decimal place is
blanked out: the balance now displays only the
coarse range.
Switching back to the fine range:
– Press control bar (1); the balance is also set to
zero.
Display accuracy (result rounding)
Your balance always measures one place more
decimal than it displays. This last measured digit is
rounded off according to the 4/5 principle.
Example PE3600:
The balance measures
94.314 g;
it displays
94.31 g.
or
The balance measures
94.315 g
it displays
94.32 g
Overload indication
If the balance weighing range is exceeded, the display
blanks out except for the upper horizontal segments
of the digits. This is how the balance indicates
overload.
Taring
– Place a container on the pan: its weight is
displayed.
– Briefly press the control bar (1), i.e. tare:
The balance displays zero.
The balance weighing range – minus the container
weight – is now available for weighing.
By taring, the fine range has been shifted to the current
zero position
If bar (1) is pressed while there is instability – i.e.,
while the pilot of the stability detector is on –, the
entire display goes out until stability is achieved; then
the balance displays zero
