3. DESCRIPTION
3.1 AREA OF APPLICATION
The Electronic level control for Sanipuddle is used wherever levels of conductive,
non-flammable media in containers or pits must either be maintained very accurately or
these liquids must be pumped very flat.
3.2 OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The electrode voltage between the electrodes is approx. 12 V direct voltage, the opera-
ting voltage for the pump connection is 230 V~.
The four electrode rods extend with different lengths into the conductive fluid.
Functional description of the electrodes, in order from longest to shortest, for the Drain
function (factory setting):
ū ground electrode,
ū deactivation electrode,
ū activation electrode,
ū then alarm electrode (the shortest).
If the liquid level increases up to the activation electrode, the control activates the
connected pump.
If the liquid level falls below the deactivation electrode, the control deactivates the pump.
If the alarm electrode is reached by the liquid, the potential-free contact in the switching
device closes and the integrated buzzer sounds.
The potentiel free contact (NO or NC) is provided for special applications such as the
connection of an external alarm. See 10. Appendix: terminal assignment for the position
of the contacts.
Note: Change from the Drain function (factory setting) to the Fill function
Connect the cable from connection 3 (Drain) to connection 1 (Fill). The connected
device then switches on when the deactivation electrode is reached and switches off
when the activation electrode is reached (filling function). The alarm is triggered if the
tank is overfilled.
NOTE: The default setting is the Drain function.
3.3 SCOPE OF DELIVERIES
The electronic level control is delivered with:
ū 4 stainless steel electrodes with electrode holder;
ū mounting bracket with nut connector;
ū 10 m cable;
ū connector switching device. The evaluation electronics, a safety plug and a safety
socket for the connection of the pump are in the connector switching device.
