Maintenance / Battery Replacement
6.0 Maintenance
When using the instrument in compliance with the instruc-
tion manual, no special maintenance is required.
6.1 Cleaning
If the instrument is dirty after daily usage, it is advised to
clean it by using a humid cloth and a mild household deter-
gent.
Prior to cleaning, ensure that instrument is switched off and
disconnected from external voltage supply and any other in-
struments connected (such as UUT, control instruments,
etc.).
Never use acid detergents or dissolvants for cleaning.
6.2 Battery Replacement
If the "Battery" symbol (BT) appears on the sound level
meter screen proceed with battery replacement.
Prior to battery replacement disconnect the instrument
from any connected current circuits.
Batteries inserted at reverse polarity can lead to instrument
destruction. Furthermore, there is danger of explosion or
fire.
Only use batteries as specified in the technical data sec-
tion!
Never try to short-circuit both battery poles using a
wire, for example. The resulting short-circuit current is
extremely high and causes enormous heat. Danger of
fire and explosion!
