1.3 Installation

1.3.1 Installation of the software

The installation files for the RM-026 software are contained in a CD-ROM. To
install RM-026 software execute the setup.exe file contained in the CD-ROM.
The installation program will create a new directory, if necessary, and copy the
RM-026 files into it. The setup program will create by default a new directory called:
C:\RM-026, but any other name will do. It also will create a Windows Program Group
called RM-026, in which the icon corresponding to the RM-026 program is located. To
run the PROMAX instrument remote control program, double click the left-hand button
of the mouse, while pointing at the icon.
If a previous version of RM-026 has been installed, it will be necessary to completely
remove it before installing present version.
1.3.2 Installation of the connection cable between the PROMAX
instrument and the PC
The connection between the instrument and the PC can be made by means of the
data transfer cable PROMAX model CC-209, which is supplied with the programming
package.
First of all turn off the PC and the PROMAX instrument. Then connect the 9 pin
"D" connector to any free port COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4 of the PC. Finally
connect the CC-209 cable to the RS-232 connector of the instrument.
