RM-026 PROMAX instruments control software
Once the PC and the instrument are connected through the CC-209 cable, turn on
both equipments and then run the RM-026 software following next steps:
1.- Verify the instrument PROMAX is on.
2.- Check the connection between the instrument and the PC.
3.- Select the PROMAX instrument model to control.
4.- Verify the selected communication port. To do this select the Config menu in
the main bar and click on Communication Port (COM 2 by default).
5.- Check the communication link by pressing, the Receive button from the
Config menu.
If a Communication error message appears:
Repeat the previous steps, changing for example the communication port.
If your PROMAX instrument has a previous software version it will be necessary to
upgrade it to the new version before carrying out any other operation. Previous control
software may not be 100% compatible with RM-026. The updating process lasts for 3
minutes approximately. Before starting the upgrade it is important to verify that the
instrument battery is fully charged and the PROMAX instrument is not in auto-power
off mode, in order it does not turn off during the updating process. Never disconnect
the Cable TV analyser from the serial port before exit completely the RM-026
program.
