When assembled, the proper chisel to
bit clearance is dependant on the
chisel size. The position of the chisel
is set with spacers (B).
Swivel the bushing spacer.
For chisels 12mm or less – use the
upper spacer only.
For chisels greater than 12mm – use
both spacers
Warning:
Chisels are extremely sharp.
Use extreme care when handling to
prevent personal injury.
Insert chisel and bit together.
Insert the bit (K) into the chisel (L).
Then insert the assembly through the
bushing (E).
Press up on as far as it will go.
Tighten the chuck (M).
Move the bushing spacers away.
Loosen the screw and push the chisel
up against the bushing and tighten the
screw (D).
This should provide the proper
distance between the points of the
chisel and the bit.
NOTE:
The slot in the chisel should face to
the right or left side only. The opening
will allow chips to escape during
operation.
The chisel must be set parallel to the
work piece.
7.2 Setting the depth stop
Lower the head (D, Fig 12) until the
chisel (E) is at the desired depth.

Tighten the lock handle (A).
7.3 Installing the Chuck Extension
If you plan to install a bit with a short
shank you need to install the chuck
extension (D, Fig 13).
Place a 12mm open spanner on the
motor spindle (C) and use the chuck
key to unscrew the chuck (B).
Attach the spindle extension to the
chuck and reinstall.

7.4 Handle position adjustment
The handle can be repositioned.
Pulling out the hub (F, Fig 12) away
from the head and repositioning it to
the desired angle.
7.5 Rotating column
Remove the four hex socket cap
screws (C, Fig 14) at the base and
rotate head and column (A) 180°.
Doing this will enable you to outboard
mortise taller items.

7.6 Sharpening chisel and bit
The chisel and bit should be kept
sharp for best performance.
Sharpening of chisel:
Sharpen the chisel on the cutting edge
inside only.
Sharpen the chisel (A, Fig 15) with the
chisel sharpening cone (B). Set the
chisel on the sharpening cone and
rotate back and forth (C) until
sharpened.
Fig 15
Sharpening of bit:
Sharpen the bit by using a small file,
following the original shape of the bit.
File the inside edge of the spur (A,
Fig16), the sides of the centre point
(B) and the cutting edge inwards
toward the flute of the bit (C)
