Design of wireless range
The radio signal is attenuated on the way from the transmitter to
the receiver. In addition, the radio signal is attenuated/influenced by
obstacles. The degree of attenuation depends on the material of the
obstacle. The following tables serve as a guide.
Penetration of radio signals:
Material
wood, gypsum, glas uncoated
brick stone, press boards
armoured concrete
metal, aluminium lamination, water
Typical ranges:
Place of use
in free field (SW868/915/917)
in free field (SW922)
indoors (SW868/915/917)
indoors (SW922)
Start-up and operation mode
Requirements:
- Connect cable for supply voltage. External fuse necessary (see
»Switching example«).
- Pay attention to contact names and circuit diagrams.
- The LED shows the operating states. If the wireless actor and the
LED are both switched on, then the device is ready for use.
Switching the relays
Switching the relays: Set the relays as described in the »Description
of interface« in paragraph »RECORD.RELAIS_SWITCH« (see RF RxT
SW868/915/917/922-NET, »Description of interface«, section »Data-
Message«, download from www.steute.com). The relays are always
switched during wakeup time of RF UBR SW868/915/917/922-NET.
Set wakeup time: Set wakeup time as described in the »Description
of interface« in paragraph »RECORD.WAKEUP« (see RF RxT SW868/
915/917/922-NET, »Description of interface«, section »DataMessage«,
download from www.steute.com).
For example: »0x01« for relays switching once a minute.
