1 Composition pipe "Copipe"
Triple layered composition pipe allowing no oxygen diffusion
– inner layer made of crosslinked polyethylene
– butt welded aluminium sleeve
– outer coating made of crosslinked polyethylene
joined with a special bonding agent.
The system is approved according to DVGW DW-8501
AT2407.
Part of the Oventrop "Combi-System".
2 Application:
– Central heating systems with circulation pump, 10 bar,
95 °C (illustration 1 )
– Underfloor heating (illustration 2)
– Sanitary installations PN 16 (20 °C),
10 bar, 95 °C (illustration 3)
– Rain water usage plants
For risers, distribution, connection and circulation pipes.
Mixed installations with any other pipe materials are possible,
irrespective of the direction of flow.
For reasons of technical coordination, the "Copipe" compo-
sition pipe may only be installed with press fittings "Cofit
P/PD" and screwed fittings "Cofit S".
To achieve professional and accurate pipe connections,
tools offered or recommended by Oventrop are to be used.
Care should be taken that the sizes of pipes and sizes of fit-
tings are in agreement.
3 Installation instructions
Install composition pipe "Copipe" according to the designed
specification.
The pipes must be insulated against sound and heat
transmission according to prevailing laws, regulations and
standards.
The thermal conductivity is λ = 0.43 W / (m K).
3.1 Fast installation of pipes off the roll
Fix pipes onto concrete floor or onto insulation layer with
Oventrop dowel hooks.
Drill 8 mm holes and fit dowel hooks.
3.2 Surface fixing of pipe in cut lengths
Fix pipes onto walls or under ceilings.
– Using Oventrop pipe brackets and customary pins with
M 6 sized thread.
– Using customary pipe brackets with supports for plastic
pipes.
– The distance between fixing points is shown in illustration 4.
3.3 Bending of pipes
The pipe can be bent by hand, by using a pipe bending
spring or a pipe bending tool. The pipe must not kink or
break. Damaged parts are to be removed.
The smallest pipe bending radii are shown in illustration 5.
3.4 Cutting to required length
Use the Oventrop pipe shears item no. 1509567 or the Oven-
trop pipe cutting tool item no. 1509580 or item no. 1509589
and cut the pipe at a right angle to the centre line.
3.5 Deburing and calibrating
Calibrate the pipe end and debur the inner plastic pipe layer
at the same time by use of an Oventrop tool.
