5.2 Special safety instructions
•
All work on the lifting columns may only be performed by authorized specialist personnel in
accordance with these assembly instructions. If there is a fault with the lifting column, we
recommend that you contact the manufacturer or send this lifting column for repair.
•
All activities on this partially completed machine are to be carried out in a de-energised state.
Pull out the plug before opening.
•
Unauthorized conversions of or changes to the lifting column are not permitted for safety
reasons.
•
The compressive and tensile forces and torque loading specified by RK Rose+Krieger GmbH
for this lifting column must not be exceeded.
•
When overloading the lifting column, the temperature limiter may be triggered. The
temperature limiter resets automatically. For this case, the manufacturer of the respective
medical device must prevent the risk caused by the lifting column starting automatically.
•
The type plate must remain legible. It must be possible to identify the ratings data effortlessly
at any time.
•
Hand-held or foot operated control elements must not change their position once they have
been set to an abnormal position. Hazard from unintended traversing of the lifting column.
•
Safety-relevant hazard symbols identify danger areas on the product.
Safety-relevant devices must be inspected at regular intervals, but at least once a year, for proper
function, damage and completeness.
All lettering required by IEC 60601-1:2005, Chapter 7.2 on the outer side including the relevant
details on the type plate must be recognised when the RK Powerlift M is installed or found in the
marking of the respective medical product manufacturer.
A damaged supply line must be replaced immediately. Operation of the lifting
column when the supply line or other cables are damaged is forbidden.
