Fit the snake outers (18) and (19) centrally onto the former (20), and tack them in place with cyano.
Temporarily fit the former in the fuselage, and shorten the snake (19) so that it ends about 50 mm
short of the end of the fuselage. Tip: fit the steel inner pushrods (21) through the slot and to the left of
the fin from the tail end, and thread the sleeves (18) and (19) onto them. Glue the former in the
fuselage.
The photo shows the rudder and the complete linkage. Caution: the covering film under the base of
the horn (25) must be removed, but without cutting into the balsa. Drill a 3 mm Ø hole in the rudder for
the horn spigot, and glue the horn in place using cyano. Shorten the snake outer sleeve as shown in
the illustration, and glue it permanently in the slot using cyano. The following picture shows the
complete snake assembly. Glue the threaded couplers (23) to the snake inners using cyano, and
secure the ends of the steel inner pushrods (21) with a drop of cyano. For additional security, carefully
crimp the threaded couplers using a pair of side-cutters. Hold the threaded coupler (23) firmly in a pair
of flat-nose pliers when screwing the clevis onto the threaded end.
The illustration shows the control snake assemblies for the rudder and elevator.
