inlet fi tting (15) and screw it in the threaded hole on the RH side of
the cylinder (considering the travel direction).
– Lubricate the cylinder barrel (already washed and blown with air).
– Position the piston ring opening at the suitable retainers, push the
piston ring inside the grooves and carefully insert the lubricated
cylinder fully home on the base gasket.
– Manually turn the crankshaft two or three times (holding the cylinder
with your free hand) to ensure engine is correctly assembled.
Check that the piston does not interfere with any part of the engine
crankcase. In case of interference, remove excess material from
the crankcase while protecting the opening from removed material
and refi t piston and cylinder as previously described.
HEAD ASSEMBLY
– Fit one of the two O-Rings Ø 22.22 x Ø 2.62 (11) on the water line
connection (13) and secure it with three M5 x 14 screws (14) on
the combustion chamber cover.
Notes: There is no need to use the water thermostat when fi tting
this Piston-cylinder assy. If chosen to fi t the thermostat, proceed
as follows:
1) Remove the thermostat from the original head of the vehicle.
2) Fit the Thermostat in its seat inside the combustion
chamber cover.
3) Secure it with the screws that fi tted it to the original head.
If missing or worn, use M4 x 10 screws (not included in
the Kit).
4) Widen the hole on the combustion chamber near the
Thermostat, from Ø 7.5 to Ø 20. In this way the thermostat
will fi t into the widened hole allowing the correct combustion
chamber and chamber cover coupling.
– Prefi t the second O-Ring (11) in the seat outside the spark plug
thread on the combustion chamber (7).
– Insert four O-Rings Ø 7.66 x Ø 1.78 (10) in their seats on the
upper part of the combustion chamber (7).
– Lubricate the O-Ring (11) previously fi tted on the combustion
chamber, introduce it in the chamber cover (6) and align the stud
bolt holes. Check that the four O-Rings (11) are perfectly fi tted in
their seats.
– Insert the remaining O-Rings (8-9-10) in their seats. To facilitate the
