Typical applications
Viking Universal is a reliable manually operated and self-priming diaphragm pump designed for
bilge pump applications and waste water handling in marine and boating applications.
The pump offers multiple installation possibilities as the pump body can be turned and the hose
connections are rotatable. Flow direction may be reversed by changing position of inlet and
outlet ports and valves in the pump body.
Viking Universal can be installed in bulkhead or through deck applications where a fitting
through deck kit is available as accessory. With a through deck kit, the Viking Universal allows
dual operation from inside and outside cabin. Read more in the section optional accessories.
ISO 15083 Small craft – Bilge pumping systems
The Viking Universal pump and its installation comply with ISO 15083 Small craft – Bilge
pumping systems.
Viking Universal manual bilge pump is intended to be used in boats of design categories A, B,
C and D, according to ISO 15083 with a length of the hull up to or greater than 12 meters.
(Category A – "ocean" sailing, Category B – "offshore sailing", Category C – "inshore sailing"
and Category D – sailing in "sheltered waters").
According to ISO 15083 it is specified for vessels of Categories A, B and C to fit at least one
manual bilge pump, together with a mechanical or electric bilge pump or bilge pump system.
For crafts in design categories A, B and C, the pump should be located operable from the
steering position.
